Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room Celebrates a Birthday
of Its Own
At Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room, it is usually the girls in
their fairy frocks and glittered hair and nails that are celebrating a
birthday, but on September 10, it will be the Tea Room that’s celebrating
its own first birthday.
And Dana Zingsheim, proprietor of Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room,
says it’s been a great year! By its first birthday, the Tea Room
will have hosted almost 200 parties—and even more are projected
for the Tea Room’s second year. You’ve likely already heard
about Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room, as it’s been featured
in local magazines and newspapers as well as on Fox 6 Saturday and Today’s
TMJ4 twice. Zingsheim says, “It’s wonderful being a part of
the business community in Brookfield, and I’m proud to be a member
of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.”
During a weekend or weekday afternoon tea party at the Enchanted Forest,
Birthday girls dressed as Queens and their guests gussied up as Princesses
regally show off their gowns, painted nails, and glittered hair during
the fashion show that is a central event of every birthday party at Megan’s
Enchanted Forest Tea Room.
Over the past year, Zingsheim has donated several of these parties to
local charities, including the Make-A-Wish foundation and Midwest Athletes
against Childhood Cancer. The Enchanted Forest Tea Room also supports
local schools and churches with donations for their raffles and silent
auctions.
But while girls celebrating birthdays still tops the list of guests, Zingsheim
says, her Enchanted Forest Tea Room is becoming popular with a wide range
of guests, including Brownie Girl Scouts earning their Manners Try-It
or celebrating other achievements. One troop leader commented, “When
we asked the troop where they wanted to go with their cookie money, they
all shouted ‘MEGAN’S!’”

The Tea Room has also hosted groups of adult women for parties or business
meetings, from a 40th birthday to a dental office meeting. Reflecting
the widespread popularity of Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room,
other guests have commented, “I wish we’d had something like
this when I was a little girl!”
Information about booking these or other events are on Megan’s Enchanted
Forest Tea Room website, www.meganstearoom.com. The website also features
photos snapped by “paparazzi” during fashion shows—as
well as glimpses of the beautiful and elaborate “forest” that
artist Nanette Luy has created in the party room.
By all accounts, the tea parties in the Enchanted Forest are a big hit
with everyone. “I have three kids, the oldest being ten years old,
and this is the best party we have ever had or been to!” said one
mom. And others are just as enthusiastic: “This place is truly amazing!
I have never seen anything like it.” “I’m having my
birthday party here every year!” And, every girl’s dream come
true: “I have never looked so beautiful.”
Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room is located at 17700 W. Capitol
